A guide for new grillers
Summer, the patio, and steaks on the grill. What could be better? If you want to impress friends and family with a perfectly grilled steak, you’re in the right place. Follow a few simple steps and tips, and you’ll become a grilling master.
-
Choosing the meat
Before we get to grilling, we need to choose the right steak. At siakos.gr, you’ll find a wide selection of quality cuts. For beginners, we recommend beef ribeye or pork chop. Both have enough fat to stay juicy on the grill.
-
Preparation
Preparation is the secret. Take the steak out of the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before grilling so it can come to room temperature. This helps it cook evenly. Season generously with salt and pepper, and add a little olive oil if you like.
-
The right grill
The grill temperature is very important. Heat your grill to a high temperature. If you’re using charcoal, make sure the coals are hot and have a nice layer underneath. For the perfect steak, we need high heat to create a nice crust.
-
Time and patience
Place the steak on the grill and let it cook without moving it for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium. Remember, don’t keep flipping the steak. We want to create that beautiful crust.
-
Internal temperature
Use a meat thermometer to check the steak’s internal temperature. For a medium steak, the temperature should be around 60°C. If you prefer it more well done, leave it on a little longer.
-
Resting time
Don’t rush to cut into the steak as soon as you take it off the grill. Let it rest for 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute evenly and keeps the steak juicy.
Now that you have all the tips, what are you waiting for? Fire up the grill and invite your friends over. Enjoy your meal and happy grilling!
