🐐🍖 Greek Goat Leg

Greek Goat Leg • Ready to Roast • Lean & Aromatic • Family Sunday Classic

The Greek Goat Leg is the perfect choice for those who love distinctive meat: leaner and more delicate than lamb, with a clean flavor and wonderful aroma when cooked properly. It’s the cut that becomes the star of the oven — with potatoes, lemon, garlic, and oregano — but works just as well in a covered casserole dish or pot for a tender, melt-in-your-mouth result.

Ideal for Sunday meals and celebrations, as well as a “big” family meal you want to turn out just right and satisfying.

📖 Product Description

• Cut: Goat leg (hind leg)
• Origin: Greece
• Ideal for: oven, covered casserole dish, pot
• Distinctive meat with a Mediterranean aroma and rich flavor
• Packaged with traceability & quality certification

💎 Why choose it

🐐 Greek goat – authentic, traditional flavor
🔥 Cooked just right, it becomes tender and juicy
🥔 Pairs perfectly with roast potatoes, lemon, and oregano
🍽️ Ideal for a festive or Sunday meal
🫕 It also turns out excellent when slow-cooked in a covered casserole dish

⚠️ Important

❗ The product is not ready to eat — it must be fully cooked before serving.

🔥 Cooking Method (recommended – oven)

Oven-Roasted Goat with Potatoes & Lemon

1️⃣ Preheat the oven to 170°C.
2️⃣ Lightly score the leg and add garlic (optional).
3️⃣ Season with salt and pepper and add olive oil, oregano, thyme, and lemon juice.
4️⃣ Roast covered (with parchment paper/aluminum foil or in a Dutch oven) for 2–2.5 hours.
5️⃣ Uncover and increase the temperature to 200°C for 15–25 minutes to brown nicely.
6️⃣ Let the meat “rest” for 10 minutes before cutting.

✅ Ready when the meat pulls away easily and the juices run clear.

💡 Chef’s Tip

• Goat meat lends itself to slow roasting. Don’t rush it: low and slow is the secret to tenderness.
• For a more aromatic flavor, add a little mustard to the marinade.

🍽️ Pairings & Serving

• Oven-roasted potatoes in the pan with the meat juices
• Green salad or Greek village salad
• Pilaf or Greek egg pasta for a more home-style serving
• Lemon/mustard sauce or yogurt with mint (optional)

🌏 Flavor Profile

✔ Clean, aromatic, with a “dry” yet delicate feel
✔ Tender when slow-roasted
✔ Mediterranean lemon-oregano finish
