Περιγραφή
“Kleftes” was one of the first wines released in Greece without sulfites, as early as 2009, long before natural wines became a topic of conversation in our country. It remains one of the finest examples of this style of wine, with vibrant fruit and mineral notes, as well as proven aging potential. Savatiano proves once again that it is a remarkable variety, even when made using this demanding and high-risk winemaking method.
It has a medium-gold color with plenty of green hues. Its aroma is complex, with an intense, juicy apricot character against a backdrop of vanilla, biscuit and mineral notes. It is relatively rich on the palate, with balanced acidity, honeyed and jammy flavors, and a long, spicy finish. It is one of the white wines that can age for several years.
It pairs exceptionally well with chickpea stew, eggplant salad, grilled squid, fatty fish grilled over charcoal, vitello tonnato, dishes with white mushrooms, smoked cured meats and aged cheeses.
Pairs well with Blue Cheese, Mild Yellow Soft Cheese, Bold/Salty Yellow Soft Cheese, Fresh White Soft Cheese, Aged/Salty White Soft Cheese, Bold/Salty Yellow Hard Cheese, Fatty Yellow Hard Cheese, Aged Yellow Hard Cheese, Bold/Salty White Hard Cheese, Oil-Based Greens-Vegetables-Legumes, Cooked Greens-Vegetables-Legumes, Lean Grilled Fish, Smoked Fish, Fatty Grilled Fish
